Evan was very excited about Santa Claus this year, and after telling bed time stories about Santa and his elves for several weeks Evan could not wait for Santa to come.
A week or two before christmas our city had Santa drive around in a fire truck throwing candy to the kids. When we heard the Fire Engine driving by we raced out side, just in time for evan to see Santa driving away in a bright red Fire Truck.
Now, not matter how many times we talk about Santa Driving a Sleigh and his reindeer, if you ask Evan “What does Santa Claus drive?” He enthusiastically responds “FIRE TRUCK!”
Thank you City of Eagle Mountain, for making Christmas come alive for our little 2 year old.
We got to spend Christmas Eve at the Barclay home with the whole family, plus Great Grandma Walker and Great Grandpa Wayman. Grandpa Barclay always like to have a multi course meal with added adventure with the main course wasn’t ready yet. So me moved to the Program which was really sweet. Grandma Barclay dressed us all up and we had a manger scene. How special it was to have Dean as our Baby Jesus.
We then finished dinner and opened presents. (We are now on day 3 of gifts for Evan, how great is this!)
Happy 2nd Birthday Evan! We are so happy Evan is part of our Family and can’t believe that 2 years has pasted! We’ve come a long way. Our little man thought presents were so much fun, and he should since we had 2 days of birthday. On his Birthday we got 9 inches of snow, so Grandma and Grandpa Barclay didn’t come out until the next day. Every gift was appreciated!
It was all about Curious George. I am even proud of the homemade cupcake picks, and the free hand George face on the cake. I guess that’s what Mom’s do.
It wouldn’t be Christmas unless there were a million things to do and a few parties too! The Saturday before Christmas was busy busy. Brian and Farrah came over to return some stuff, pick up presents and make us sushi. It was super yummy, thank you Farrah!!
Then we went to Evan’s friend Carter’s Finding Nemo themed party. It was super fun, we’ll have to see if we can get a picture. We came home and changed and then ran off to the Adam’s and Smith Christmas party after dropping Evan at Grandpa and Grandmas.
On Sunday we made our way down to Provo for Grandma Betty’s Christmas Party. So much food, and it wouldn’t be a Lohrke event without FUDGE! Don’t ask why no one knows. All of this and it wasn’t even Evan’s Birthday yet.
It finally SNOWED! Today was our first real day of substantial snow. We woke up to about 2 inches. The first thing Evan said was “jacket”, then “hat”. We waited a little bit and then went out and shoveled the driveway with other neighbors. Also snow days mean we have to play inside. I love the picture of Evan playing with the cars.

On Friday night we drove up to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square. They always do such a nice job, and we thought it would be fun for Evan. I’m glad we did it last week as now we have snow and cold.

Every night Jon goes through this sequence with Evan..
“Evan who’s coming to our house?” to which Evan replies “Santa Clause”
and so forth to the point that Evan is excited by anything Santa Clause related. I thought I’d capture a little video for the Grandmas.
Also a little video of our Dean!
